I was disappointed having read that gluten free fish and chips were available here only to be told they could not do battered gluten free fish but could grill me some fish. Not what I wanted.

Absolutely awful customer service.
We stood for 10 minutes waiting to be seated.
3 members of staff look over and ignored us and went back to gossiping about their day.
Won't ever step foot in again.

The fish and chips were incredible. Lovely crisp batter, beautiful fish and perfect chips. The waitress we had was polite, charming and looked after our needs exactly, without being intrusive. Older furnishings, but that added to the charm. Busy place but not overcrowded with tables. The person on the next table ordered a mixed seafood platter, that looked scrumptious, with haddock, salmon and prawns. Highly recommended but make sure that you leave space for me so that I can visit again!! 😊

Sat at a table for two, ordered fish and chips with a waitress who seemed to have a problem talking, almost snatched the menu off us when we ordered. Meal served with a slam to the table, then we were told to move over so two more people could be seated at our table, it was already a bit cramped as a table for two, which was crowded by the meals we had, nowhere to put the cups or tea pots. Couldn’t wait to get out. Meal wasn’t very good, chips were tough (?), batter horrible and fish slimy. Outside I promptly threw up in the gutter, I put it down to the quality of fat used for frying - never again, and I’m a local !!

If you like a cafe that could have come from the 1940s this is it. Very quaint and old fashioned interior. However, the food was great. We had fish and chips medium size, but I would have called it large especially the fish! Came with buttered bread, so you can knock up a quick clip butty, and also tea or coffee. Very tasty

Visited for lunch on 14th February. A member of staff pointed out which tables were reserved and said there were more available upstairs. The medium haddock and chips was lovely and the staff were wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Complained my fish had a horrible taste I'm a skippers daughter so I know good fish when I Complained I was offered a free dessert really I paid the bill and left never ever will I eat there again poor customer service

Was recommended this chippy. Won't be going again. Asked for a large fish and chips we got a small scoop off chips. Avoid if taking out. Awful!

Lovely tea here tonight. I had fish and chips, my partner had steak pie and chips with a portion of onion rings. Lovely light batter, everything piping hot, pie and especially the pastry, delicious. Great service and good value for money 😀

Best fish and chips bar none. This was 10/10. Not a single thing was wrong with this food. A must for anyone who likes Haddock and chips.

Anyone needing to understand what good food looks like needs to eat here. No faffing. Just excellent food & service with a great walk along the seafront to work it off.
